Reasons To DisagreeI have seen no evidence to suggest that this is the case. Yes we can express a view - does it influence decisions..... I've yet to see that 12 February 2006
The present regime doesn't listen toanything and care less. So no what you are trying to achieve will not help. Change the government!!! 16 August 2006
Generally the low income earners make up a majority of the 50% without internet access. 20 August 2006
It is an irrelevant website. Fun though. 10 February 2007
Its fun but does it alter MPs decisions? I think not. 12 October 2007
You can't rely on the newspapers or TV news to give a balanced view and this is only going to give the view of those who visit the site. In order for democracy to work people need to get off their butts and seriously research and talk about the issues - get outside! 12 January 2008
Why not have a website just like this that actually counts the votes on a regular monthly basis. Everyone is numbered and named and can only have one vote. We wouldnt even need parliament. Most votes win. Simple. You dont vote dont moan. 3 July 2009
Apparently not since socialism continues to rule. 4 July 2009

Reasons To AgreeI would hope it would but what happens to this information? 14 March 2006
If the numbers are significant, politicians may use it to get an overview off public opinion on issues and devise policy strategies to garner that apparent support. 25 March 2006
I think the fact that this website has been put together reinforces the notion of democracy - of course it does require that people actually use it, interact with it and that someone at the end of the day collates the information and it is presented in a meaningful and mature way to the elected officials. 1 August 2006
Encouraging people to express their opinion is a good thing for democracy. This site has to be careful that it does not use ?leading? questions. It will be helpful only if enough people express their opinion so politicians, or perhaps the media, will to take note of it. 5 August 2006
I am a beiever 24 August 2007
if democracy in NZ existed im sure this website would help sad truth is NZ is a poorly hid dictatorship 1 May 2008
Maybe...but what happens to all these opinions that I'm busy handing out? 13 September 2008
I will agree, but see no signs that it helps the government make decisions. 2 December 2012

Reasons for Remain Neutral
I hope.
I would like to think that this site - or something like it - MAY help democracy. I beleive that the people of this country need to take a more active interest in the doings of the government of the and that, provided with the means to do so, they actually might voice their opinions. I hope this site grows and becomes a tool for citizens initiated binding refernda. But for now as there is nothing to suggest that this is the case currently - I am staying Neutral.
This website allows the expression of topical ideas, but democracy is only dictatorship by the majority when the individual has no right to protect his own rights.
Depends on who is actually running the site and taking notice of the opinions expressed here.
Who knows?
How would anyone decide on the correct answer?
Remains to be seen. But it's a good start.
