Reasons To DisagreeThe Employment Contracts Act was repealed five years ago. Do you mean the Employment Relations Act 2000 which is the current legislation? 13 September 2005
This Act ook all collective power from Employee's and Gave it to the Unions. No colective contract can now exist unless the unions get their pound of flesh. Many good collective employment conditions were lost by staff in small companies (90% of us) and we were forced to national Awards with inferior working conditions, Its Bad to have power taken from you and placed by force into a political body. Including a Union. 19 June 2006
As it came in under Commissar Clerk I rather doubt it! The best way to encourage job creation is by an individuals terms of employment being freely negotiated between the applicant and the employer. If the employer can't find anyone to agree to his terms and conditions, he goes out of business. If the worker doesn't like those terms or conditions - he looks elsewhere. 20 July 2006
Too much power is in the hands of the employers. 10 February 2007
